Design Director Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Design Director to lead our team of designers and drive the development of innovative digital products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in user-centered design processes, experience working with cross-functional teams, and excellent communication skills.

  • Lead the design operation from India, driving design quality, craft, and practice while enhancing overall competency of the team.
  • Elevate our service offering and value propositions to clients, developing new models for closer collaboration and agile engagements.
  • Provide strategic design thought leadership to the organization, publishing and speaking at internal and external events to build reputation.
  • Guide new business strategy, approach, and concept creation, defining storyline for pitches and delivering engaging presentations to drive higher-value design outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing performance and providing career mentorship for senior members of the design team.
  • Attracting top talent to the studios, building brand in India, and maintaining hiring standards and processes for highest quality outcomes.
  • Working closely with the global CXO and regional counterparts to evolve best practices and establish training models for engaging talent across the organization.
  • Providing directional oversight of individual project teams and assuming accountability for their work, raising the quality of design outcomes.
  • Building a studio environment where each member can do their best work, grow, and thrive, through empowerment and autonomy.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience, with 7+ years of leadership/management experience of teams of 50+ designers.
  • Background in the agency world or running large-scale teams for startups and organizations in-house, with entrepreneurial spirit as a co-founder in a startup or agency a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with user-centered design processes, collaborating with customers, cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research.
  • Mastery in Product Design, Service Design, User Research, demonstrated through outstanding work performed by teams led and directed by you.
  • References from clients, team, and peers about outcomes achieved and leadership style.
  • Proven experience building aligned connections regionally and globally as a respected leader in the design community.
  • Highly proactive with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, great presentation skills, and ability to engage C-suite clients.
