System Development Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the development of new neurostimulator system solutions and design system engineers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in guiding teams on design, characterization, and verification testing, operations support, and product release.

The System Development Lead will be responsible for planning, directing, and implementing all aspects of system design, development, and validation of medical device systems and products. This includes knowledge of product development, clinical, and regulatory requirements.

The role involves overseeing the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies in partnership with other units, leading the team in partnership with business for the development of new concepts from initial design to market release and sustaining products already on the field.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring documentation maintenance throughout all phases of development, organizing the coordination of activities across product teams within a system development to ensure timely delivery of the system for design characterization, verification, and validation testing.

This position requires strong technical leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of engineers involved in the system SI&T process. Additionally, the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, providing technical insights and updates on systems verification and validation progress is essential.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree required with minimum 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience managing a cross-functional engineering technical team size of 20 or more
  • Provide a blend of people management and technical savviness
  • Have a deep understanding of embedded and application SW development processes (Agile, waterfall methodology) and establishing metrics & recommended processes for the team
  • Experience with validation of test methods, hard and software, test fixtures
  • Knowledge of how to manage teams in a large organization, especially at multiple locations and remotely
  • Great communication skills: Strong ability to coordinate people and teams around unstructured challenges and moving project priorities
  • Knowledge of product development workflow
