Technical Lead

At Xplor, we're looking for a seasoned Technical Lead to help us enhance our industry-leading platform used by our customer base to run their businesses. This role involves collaborating with Product and Engineering leadership in defining technical strategy and designing solutions to address current and future business requirements and infrastructure needs.

You will be responsible for contributing to the development and execution of a technology roadmap to support our departmental strategy and business objectives. Additionally, you'll work closely with development and project teams to provide technical solutions for complex issues, and ensure technical design aligns with the vision and future state of existing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of a technology roadmap to support our departmental strategy and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership in defining technical strategy and designing solutions to address current and future business requirements and infrastructure needs.
  • Consult with development and project teams to provide technical solutions for complex issues.
  • Ensure technical design aligns with the vision and future state of existing systems.
  • Contribute to the vision and direction for the future of our products and services.
  • Review existing architectural roadmaps and propose solutions for existing technical debt and development bottlenecks.

Requirements:

  • 9+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on mobile applications.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with React Native for mobile app development.
  • Proven track record of leading development teams and managing projects from conception to deployment.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and modern frameworks, especially React Native.
  • Deep understanding of mobile app architecture and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX).
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating with backend services.
  • Familiarity with native mobile development (iOS/Android) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle, Android Studio, and IntelliJ.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Experience with React Native CLI for effective project management.

Leadership and Management:

  • Experience in mentoring and guiding junior developers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and QA.
  • Experience in conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback.

Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with mobile app testing frameworks and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for mobile applications.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Firebase).
  • Contribution to open-source projects or community involvement in React Native.
