Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned credit leader to spearhead our credit risk, underwriting, and portfolio management functions. As the Head of Credit, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our credit strategy, policies, and processes aligned with our business objectives while ensuring risk management standards and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain finance, bill discounting, invoice financing, and related credit products. They will be responsible for defining and implementing credit policies, frameworks, and processes for SME/MSME lending and supply chain financing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement credit appraisal and underwriting strategies, including assessment of borrower risk, financial due diligence, and creditworthiness evaluation.
  • Oversee portfolio quality, delinquency management, and design early warning mechanisms to mitigate risk.
  • Work closely with business, risk, and operations teams to balance growth objectives with prudent credit practices.
  • Presentation of credit proposals and portfolio performance updates to senior management and regulators as required.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing credit team capable of handling scale.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8–15 years of experience in credit risk/underwriting, preferably with NBFCs or banks with strong SME/MSME exposure.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory norms, compliance requirements, and RBI guidelines.
  • CA/MBA/FRM or equivalent qualification preferred.
