Job Title: Backend Systems Engineer - Agent & Workflow Infrastructure

Our team is seeking a skilled backend systems engineer to design and build a fast API backend powering multi-agent workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build and scale the fastAPI backend, utilizing Python as the primary programming language.
  2. Design workflow orchestration pipelines with Temporal or similar technologies to plan multi-step actions, handle fallbacks, and reason over user intent.
  3. Implement memory and context systems for knowledge retrieval and adaptive workflows.
  4. Manage authentication, user integrations, and secure credential handling.
  5. Develop robust error handling mechanisms for internal reasoning and external API/tool failures.
  6. Ongoing deployment, monitoring, and scaling of backend infrastructure.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong background in backend development with Python/FastAPI.
  • Proven ability to design workflow orchestration and agent systems.
  • Experience with context management, prompt engineering, and AI-engineering (1-2 years of experience with AI and agents).
  • Knowledge of Postgres and vector databases.
  • Ability to build systems for multi-step planning, minimal hallucination, and graceful error recovery.
  • Familiarity with multi-agent architectures and dynamic workflow generation (functional programming approaches).
