Senior Technical Superintendent Job Description

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will oversee the technical and operational performance of 3-4 merchant vessels. They will ensure safe and efficient operations, routine and preventive maintenance, and compliance with international marine requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A degree in Marine Engineering or a related field is required
  • Experience as a Chief Engineer on Merchant Vessels is highly preferred
  • At least three years of experience as a Technical Superintendent
  • Excellent technical and managerial skills to link organizational resources to excellent service delivery and operational results
  • People-oriented and passionate about developing shipboard teams
  • Business acumen with capability to manage budgetary responsibilities for multiple vessels
  • Analytical with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively with any stakeholder
  • Able to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Well-updated with the latest regulatory requirements and its implementation
