Electrical Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer to lead the development of substation designs.

This is a complex role that requires someone with excellent technical skills, strong communication abilities and leadership experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical engineering and a deep understanding of industry standards.

The successful applicant will be responsible for designing and documenting substation layouts, performing calculations and analyzing data. They will also need to collaborate with other teams to deliver high-quality projects on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design & Documentation: Develop detailed engineering drawings for EHV substations, including panel arrangements and equipment wiring.
  • Technical Analysis: Prepare calculations and reports for engineering studies, such as voltage drop and AC/DC load studies.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with other departments and offices globally to ensure project alignment and quality.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members and participate in quality reviews.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all design packages comply with required client standards and international codes like NESC, IEEE and IEC.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 10 years of experience in substation design.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
    • Familiarity with substation automation systems based on IEC 61850.
    • Knowledge of relay testing and control/protection scheme testing is desirable.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Substation 3D Design software.
