Structural Design Engineer - Petrochemical Plants

A structural design engineer in this role is responsible for performing basic and detail design engineering activities for assigned projects in petrochemical plants.

  • Preparation/review of PFD, P&ID's, project specific specifications, design calculation/analysis, procurement specification
  • Interface with other disciplines, user departments, and clients
  • Estimation/engineering work related to bids

Responsibilities:

  • Qualification: Bachelor/Master's Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering
  • Skills Required: STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP, STAAD Foundation (preferable)
  • Conversant with StaadPro & SAP software
  • Working knowledge of Auto Cad and Other 3D tools like Tekla Structure, Navisworks, SPR etc.
  • Jacket and Topside pre-service analysis
  • Jacket Impact Analysis
  • Jacket and topside Fatigue Analysis
  • Pile Drivability Analysis
  • Preparing load Calculations and loading sketches
  • Basic knowledge of Industrial Architecture, PHE, and Roadways
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of structural steel/reinforced concrete design & detailing of Process/non-process buildings Machine foundations Pipe rack Factory Buildings etc.
  • Experience in international codes & standards is preferable
  • Responsible for quality checks, quality assurance of reviewed drawings

Skill Set:

  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team including process, mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and piping
  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members from project management, estimating, and project controls
  • Strong organizational skills, technical competence, and attention to detail
  • Ability to provide supporting design calculations
  • Must have experience in independently reviewing analysis files
  • Must hold strong knowledge of strength, buckling, fatigue, and dynamic behaviour of structures
  • Familiarity with following will be considered as additional advantage;
  • 3D environment working with software such as SP3D, TEKLA
  • Team leads in medium to large size relevant project
  • Process knowledge and ability to develop team
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to produce coherent, self-explanatory reports such as technical documents, market research analysis, and business advisory
