Scientific Innovation Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Innovation Lead to develop and commercialize innovative packaging technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Organic Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and at least 5 years of R&D experience in formulation development.

This role requires effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, as well as the ability to work globally with cultural sensitivity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of new products from concept to commercialization, applying scientific principles to drive innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing innovative packaging cushioning foam technologies and products
  • Leading the development of new products from concept to commercialization
  • Applying scientific principles to drive innovation
  • Communicating progress to R&D leadership, Marketing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain Groups through presentations
  • Conducting literature searches, understanding analytical methods, and applying information to aid in product development or Protective Packaging applications
  • Working with sales, account representatives, and package design personnel to address customer needs
  • Identifying key technology gaps, opportunities, and resources required for business growth
  • Ensuring timely completion of product development projects and prioritizing tasks with R&D leadership
  • Traveling to support production facilities and customer sites
  • Assessing new technologies, tracking knowledge of competitive activities, and creating a technology roadmap
  • Staying up-to-date with technology to maintain competitiveness and ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Organic Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
