Senior DevOps Leader

The Senior DevOps Leader is a key strategic and technical leadership position responsible for shaping and advancing the organization's DevOps culture and capabilities.

This role will spearhead the implementation, integration, and ongoing refinement of DevOps methodologies across all applications.

Key Accountabilities include defining and executing the DevOps strategy for application development, ensuring alignment with business goals and organizational standards.

Responsibilities also involve architecting, implementing, and optimizing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for multiple application teams, ensuring fast, reliable, and secure delivery of software releases.

Leadership skills are essential to act as a bridge between development, operations, and QA teams to remove silos, facilitate communication, and promote shared responsibilities.

Fostering a culture of feedback and iteration by implementing metrics-driven improvements and promoting innovative approaches to DevOps challenges is also crucial.

Operational Management requires designing, implementing, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines to enable high-velocity application delivery.

Applying experience of working on CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus, Maven, NuGet, ProGet or similar to create or update build packages and deployment pipeline is necessary.

Developing/update the code build using scripting skills in language like Maven, YAML Classical Editor is required.

Championing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for repeatable and auditable infrastructure management (Code branching, Merging and pull request workflow) is an important responsibility.

Driving containerization and orchestration strategies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Service Fabrics) across the application portfolio is also necessary.

Developing and enforcing automated testing frameworks, including unit, integration, and security testing within pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps is required.

Continuously evaluating and integrating new tools and technologies to optimize the software delivery lifecycle is essential.

Ensuring applications are monitored and supported with actionable logging, metrics, health checks, and uptime dashboards using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, etc. is a critical responsibility.

Implementing and upholding policies for access control, patching, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance is also crucial.

Facilitating post-incident reviews and root cause analysis to drive system and process improvements is necessary.

Documenting DevOps architectures, processes, and standards for reuse and knowledge sharing is required.

Engaging with business leaders, project managers, and technical teams to align DevOps initiatives with organizational priorities is essential.
