Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality Ruby code with strong proficiency in language fundamentals, idioms, and metaprogramming.
  • Design and implement object-oriented software with deep understanding of OOP, mixins, blocks, procs, and lambdas.
  • Optimize application performance with familiarity of memory management, GC tuning, and profiling.
  • Work with frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Grape, ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, and Engines.
  • Deploy and optimize Passenger, Thin, and other servers.
  • Use PostgreSQL and advanced ActiveRecord features.
  • Experience with optimizing N+1 queries, indexes, and query plans is a must.
  • Proficient with Bundler, Rake, Rubygems, Gem building, and custom gem publishing.
  • Knowledge of RVM, rbenv, and chruby is necessary.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Ruby (language fundamentals, idioms, metaprogramming)
  • Deep understanding of OOP, mixins, blocks, procs, and lambdas
  • Familiarity with memory management, GC tuning, and performance profiling
  • Experience with frameworks like Ruby on Rails,Grape ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, ActiveModel validations, Engines, initializers, routing, and lifecycle callbacks
  • Comfortable deploying and optimizing Passenger, Thin
  • Deeper understanding of Thread vs. process models, Connection handling, worker tuning, memory profiling
  • PostgreSQL and advanced usage of ActiveRecord
  • Experience optimizing N+1 queries, indexes, and query plans
  • Proficient with Bundler, Rake, Rubygems
  • Gem building and custom gem publishing
  • Knowledge of RVM, rbenv, chruby
