HVAC Systems Design Position

The role involves performing load calculations, equipment selection, duct and piping design, and ensuring compliance with industry standards for energy efficiency.

  • Design HVAC systems including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systems to meet project requirements.
  • Perform heat load calculations, cooling load calculations, and airflow analysis using software like HAP, Trace 700, or Carrier E-20.
  • Select and size HVAC equipment (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, heat exchangers, pumps, etc.) based on project needs.
  • Design ductwork, piping layouts, and control systems using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
  • Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and local building codes.
  • Perform energy optimization and optimize HVAC systems for cost and sustainability.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and contractors for system integration.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation for project approvals.
  • Assist in estimating and bid evaluations for HVAC systems.
  • Support project execution by providing technical guidance during installation and commissioning.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (HAP, Trace 700, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Carrier E-20).
  • Strong knowledge of duct and pipe sizing, psychrometrics, and refrigeration cycles.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other HVAC standards.
  • Experience in sustainable HVAC system design.
  • Ability to troubleshoot HVAC system performance issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills.
