Enterprise Data Protection Specialist

This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of enterprise data protection systems, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like Commvault, NAS/SAN, RAID, NFS, and Active Directory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and resolve escalated issues in backup operations, particularly with Commvault
  • Conduct regular performance assessments of NAS/SAN environments to optimize data storage and retrieval
  • Validate, reconfigure, and troubleshoot RAID arrays and storage failures to minimize downtime
  • Diagnose issues with NFS mounts, permissions, and connectivity to ensure seamless data access
  • Administer and audit Active Directory entries relevant to backup and access policies to maintain data security and compliance
Requirements:
  • Proficient in Commvault backup suite, job configuration, and log analysis to identify and resolve issues
  • Familiarity with SAN/NAS technologies, including iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and CIFS/NFS protocols to design and implement efficient data storage solutions
  • Practical experience with various RAID levels and their performance trade-offs to optimize data storage and retrieval
  • Solid understanding of NFS exports, client permissions, and mount failures to ensure smooth data access
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, including GPOs, OU structures, and ACLs to manage data access and security
