
Leading Financial Crime Control Expert

The role of a Financial Crime Control Expert is pivotal in safeguarding financial institutions from illicit activities. As a seasoned professional, you will be instrumental in implementing and managing controls to mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply expertise in technology to detect and prevent financial crime at a strategic level.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across functions, businesses, and regions.
- Lead on the coordination of responses to critical incidents and provide timely risk information to relevant governance fora.
- Provide leadership to the Customer Monitoring Sub-value Stream on controls management, model risk management, and second- and third-line review requirements.
Requirements:
- Deep expertise and experience in using technology to detect financial crime at a strategic level.
- Good understanding of the HSBC Risk Management Framework and knowledge of the Risk and Control environment and processes within Group Financial Crime.
- Experience in project management and product ownership in a complex global environment.
- An understanding of model risk, required controls, and how models, machine learning, and AI techniques are deployed to improve control operations.
- Track record of resilience and confident challenge when dealing with senior stakeholders to influence change without direct responsibility for resources or budget.
Desirable Skills:
- Background or understanding of operational risk.
- Experience of dealing with Second and Third Line Review teams.
