Investment Associate Role

Renate Capital Fund I is a Category II AIF Venture Capital Fund that invests in revenue-positive Indian startups solving core Indian problems. We invest larger cheques and take controlling/major stakes in startups raising seed rounds, targeting disciplined 18-24 month exits with 3× returns.

The fund is sector-agnostic and backed by the Renate ecosystem across consulting, finance, housing, aviation, exports, skilling, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

As an Investment Associate, you will be part of the core team working directly under the Managing Director. Key responsibilities include:

  • Deal Sourcing: Identify investors/LPs through networks, events, inbound leads, accelerators, and referrals.
  • Evaluation of Investments: Analyze business models, financials, traction, and scalability of potential investments.
  • Due Diligence: Support legal, financial, and compliance checks on shortlisted startups.
  • Portfolio Support: Work with portfolio companies on fundraising, growth strategy, and performance tracking.
  • Market Research: Conduct deep dives into sectors, prepare market maps, and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Fund Operations: Assist with investment memos, reporting to LPs, and internal fund documentation.
  • Ecosystem Building: Represent Renate Capital at startup events, demo days, and founder meetings.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A completed or ongoing bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 6-12 months of experience in VC, PE, consulting, investment banking, or startup strategy.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Strong networking skills and prior built-up network.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, lean team environment.
