Linux Systems Support Specialist

This is a highly technical position that requires experience with Linux operating systems. The successful candidate will provide level 2 and level 3 support for Linux in a mission-critical banking environment.
The key responsibilities of this role include ensuring compliance with industry standards such as PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local banking regulations. The engineer will operate under ITIL processes, maintaining high availability, performance, and security, and participating in disaster recovery/business continuity planning drills.
The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, able to manage complex incidents and approved platform changes. They should be able to conduct root cause analysis, implement permanent fixes, and tune configurations to enhance performance and reliability.
A strong communication skillset is required, as the engineer will need to coordinate vendor technical assistance cases, plan firmware/patch updates, and validate post-change health.
Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate an ownership mindset, with readiness for 24x7 support and on-call rotation.
