Financial Services Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and competent manager to oversee all financial and tax-related functions within our organization.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience and a strong background in accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting.

  • Preparing management reports, financial statements, and tax returns for various types of clients, including individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts, and super funds.
  • Required, preparing business activity statements (BAS) for clients.
  • Working on a variety of tax matters, such as Goods and Services Tax (GST), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), and Division 7A.

This position may also involve providing business advisory services, including management accounting, creating board report packs, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and succession planning.

Key responsibilities include reviewing independently, identifying issues and opportunities, suggesting strategies, and improving on prior years rather than following past year assignments.

The ability to research through law and form a view is essential. Managing or training juniors, monitoring and mentoring them, reviewing at a high level, and having strong written and verbal English are also key requirements.

Qualifications include a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CA are highly desirable.

Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential as you will be working closely with clients and colleagues.

A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and tax returns.

Previous experience with using Xero and Xero practice tools is desirable but not essential.

You should be open to working on a variety of assignments, as the role may involve different types of clients and tasks.

Being a team player and actively contributing to the growth of the firm is important, as you will likely work collaboratively with colleagues.

Being naturally proactive, having good common sense, and taking initiative are valuable qualities in an accounting role, where problem-solving and decision-making skills are often required.
