Job Title: Safety Observer

As a Safety Observer, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety of everyone involved in handling and transporting loads.

This position requires attention to detail, strong observational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect the Load: Carefully examine the load for any potential hazards such as sharp edges, splinters, nails, or greasy surfaces.
  • Wear Proper PPE: Ensure you are wearing the required personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety toe shoes or boots, and a hard hat with a chin strap.
  • Size Up the Load: If the load is too big or awkward, consider dividing it up, asking for assistance, or using a mechanical aid device.
  • Take Rest Breaks: If the load needs to be carried over a long distance, find opportunities to rest and avoid fatigue.
  • Keep the Load Elevated: Whenever possible, keep the load elevated to minimize the need for lifting and reduce strain on your body.
