Job Opportunity: Mechanical Engineer

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Execute projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and quality results.
  2. Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies to meet product requirements.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project execution and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  4. Contribute to idea generation events to build project pipelines and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  5. Analyze data and perform system sizing, modeling, and simulation to optimize product design and compliance.
  6. Develop a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, including IEC, UL, CSA, NEMA standards, and apply this knowledge to inform design decisions.
  7. Evaluate ideas and estimate potential savings, building a business case and aligning stakeholders for approvals.
  8. Lead projects individually as project owner, driving regular follow-up meetings to provide periodic updates on project status, challenges, and changes.
  9. Assess test results, perform root cause analysis, and take corrective actions to ensure quality and reliability.
  10. Support suppliers in resolving DFM-related challenges and queries to provide quotes and prototypes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-6 years of experience in VAVE/Cost-out projects, with expertise in design of plastic and sheetmetal components and assemblies.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in VAVE/Cost-out project execution, with the ability to work on NPI/Sustaining projects as needed.

Skills:

  • Expertise in design of cast, forged, and machined parts, with strong ability to implement GD&T, drafting standards, and mechanical design processes.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, cost, and latest technologies in manufacturing of mechanical components and prototyping techniques.
  • Knowledge of DFSS methodology and experience in using various tools, such as Concept trade-off, PDSC, DFMEA, DVP, etc.
  • Ability to prepare project plans by connecting with multiple functions, such as SCM, quality, and production departments.
