Senior Backend Developer

We are seeking a skilled backend developer to create and maintain high-quality back-end systems for our maritime operations platform.

This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services with frontend applications, databases, and other core systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop scalable, maintainable, and efficient software architecture.
  • Take ownership of the product lifecycle, from conceptualization through development and deployment.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices, including comprehensive unit tests.
  • Build reusable, modular code and libraries for efficiency and consistency.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Enforce security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation for all systems and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in programming languages like Python, including debugging and performance analysis.
  • Experience working with web applications, APIs (REST, XML), and frameworks like Django/Flask.
  • Expertise in secure software development and handling sensitive data.
  • Well-established experience in all phases of development – requirement gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Source Code Repository and Git.
  • Hands-on experience in DB design & Architecture, caching techniques, and utilities like Memcache/Redis.
  • Experience working on Apache, Nginx, or web/app servers.
  • Containerization tool - Docker experience.
  • Enterprise-level deployment and scaling expertise.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Key Competencies
  • Troubleshooting complex issues, identifying root causes, and implementing optimal solutions.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, handling sensitive data, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
