About the Role
As a key member of our Sustainable Energy Systems team, you'll be responsible for coordinating all mechanical engineering activities in projects, ensuring timely delivery of detailed layouts, steel structure designs, and piping routes. You'll also prepare specification documents for manufacturing processes and supervise manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate mechanical engineering tasks in R&D projects and customer projects
- Contribute to negotiations with suppliers and customers
- Coordinate fabricators
- Detailed planning of steel structures and piping designs
- Preparation of plant layouts and detailed installation plans
- Integration of the electrolysis plant into building planning
- Review of structural-mechanical simulations and stress analyses
- Support of proposal preparations for hydrogen generation plants
- Preparation of specification documents and technical drawings for manufacturing processes
- Support of manufacturing activities and management of interfaces with external manufacturers
- Preparation and execution of design reviews
- Development of design guidelines and support of further development of 3D design tools
- Initiation of lessons learned initiatives and implementation of improvement measures
Requirements
- University degree in mechanical engineering or similar qualification with relevant professional experience
- Several years of practical experience in 3D design and creation of 3D plant layouts
- Comprehensive experience in piping design
- High expertise in using 3D design tools, preferably NX
- Good knowledge in performing structural-mechanical simulations and conducting stress analyses
- Ideal knowledge in the use of Teamcenter
- Experience in managing CAD data of large projects and handling large amounts of data
- Experience in data exchange between 3D design tools and layout planning tools, as well as data exchange with external partners
- Good knowledge of manufacturing and assembly works
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience in coordinating small engineering or project teams
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
- Business fluent English and German language skills
- Great passion for the field of energy transition and decarbonization
- Willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions
