Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineering Specialist to join our team at SBM Offshore. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the safety and integrity of our oil and gas facilities.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing safety engineering documentation, reviewing design aspects, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. You will also support the development of risk management strategies, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and participate in HAZOP reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review safety engineering documentation to ensure compliance with Group Technical Standards;
- Identify and write specifications for loss prevention aspects applicable to Company products;
- Support the development of risk management strategies to reduce risks to ALARP;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of safety systems;
- Participate in HAZOP reviews and other safety reviews;
- Monitor and review internal drawings, specifications, and documentation related to loss prevention systems;
- Perform safety and risk engineering in conformance with all applicable legislation, standards, and codes;
- Answer queries arising from clients, contractors, site supervisors, or internal company departments on hazard management aspects of Company products;
- Prepare formal responses to comments from clients and classification societies on drawings and specifications;
- Attend and contribute to internal Company/departmental/project meetings where safety systems and equipment are discussed.
Requirements
- Academic: Graduate in Chemical / Fire & Safety / Mechanical Engineering;
- Experience: 10+ Years;
- Software or tools: PIPENET/PHAST;
- Candidates must have strong analytical skills, be able to think out of the box, and possess excellent communication skills.
