Job Title: Structural Steel Detailing Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Structural Steel Detailing Professional to join our team.

Job Description:

As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for detailing and reviewing drawings, preparing bills of materials, and managing procurement needs for our projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Interpreting architectural and structural drawings to produce accurate shop drawings and bills of materials.

  • Using detailing software (Tekla Structures, AutoCAD/Advance Steel, or similar) to model and detail steel components including stairs, railings, embeds, and structural steel.

  • Generating and organizing CNC files, bolt lists, BOM, and fabrication-ready documentation.

  • Collaborating with the project team to ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and coordinated with other trades.

  • Reviewing drawings and shop details to identify all materials, hardware, and consumables required for fabrication and installation.

  • Creating accurate takeoffs and preparing purchase lists for materials (steel shapes, plate, pipe/tube, fasteners, weld consumables, etc.).

  • Coordinating with approved vendors to request pricing, compare quotes, and prepare purchase orders.

  • Tracking material deliveries, lead times, and costs to ensure alignment with project schedules.

  • Maintaining procurement logs and communicating regularly with project managers, foremen, and shop leadership.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Software Proficiency in Tekla Structures, AutoCAD/Advance Steel, Bluebeam Revu, and Excel.

  • Strong understanding of structural and architectural steel fabrication.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural drawings.

  • Experience preparing takeoffs and bills of materials from shop drawings.

  • Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

  • Prior experience working with construction or fabrication companies is preferred.
