Oncology Prior Authorisation Specialist

The role involves managing electronic prior authorisations for oncology-related prescriptions.

This is a challenging position that requires you to work closely with various stakeholders, including prescribers, pharmacies and payers.

To excel in this position, you will need to possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • You will be responsible for processing electronic prior authorisations through CoverMyMeds, focusing on oncology medications.
  • You will review clinical documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy before submission to payers.
  • You will collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies and specialty pharmacies to resolve prior authorisation and reimbursement issues.
  • You will monitor and track prior authorisation requests, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • You will educate prescribers' offices and staff on CoverMyMeds processes and payer requirements.
  • You will stay updated on oncology drug access pathways, insurance policies and payer-specific rules.
  • You will document case activities accurately in CRM or patient management systems.
  • You will work cross-functionally with internal teams to support patient access initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, pharmacy, life sciences or a related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience using CoverMyMeds, specifically in prior authorisation processing.
  • Strong background in oncology medication access, reimbursement or patient services.
  • Familiarity with specialty pharmacy operations and payer requirements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
