Job Title: Senior Open-Source Database Architect

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Open-Source Database Architect to join our team. As a key member of the database architecture team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing open-source database architectures that meet the evolving needs of our organization.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of open-source databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB. They will be able to work closely with development teams to design and implement database architectures that meet the performance, scalability, and security requirements of our applications.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing open-source database architectures
  • Collaborating with development teams to ensure seamless integration between database systems and applications
  • Ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of database systems
  • Developing and implementing automation scripts for database maintenance, backups, and monitoring
  • Implementing and enforcing database security policies to meet compliance and regulatory standards
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with open-source databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, etc.) in a production environment
  • Deep knowledge of database performance tuning, query optimization, and storage management
  • Experience with designing and implementing backup strategies and disaster recovery plans
  • Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, or custom scripting in Python, Bash)
  • Familiarity with database security practices, including encryption, user access control, and compliance standards
  • Hands-on experience with databases on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus
