Job Title: Project Financial Manager

About the Job

The primary objective of this role is to ensure effective economic and financial management of internal projects, adhering to established company procedures while identifying and mitigating risks.

This position will be responsible for coordinating with project managers to prepare periodic project reviews, conducting thorough financial analysis, and optimizing project results through close collaboration with stakeholders.

A key responsibility will be to develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and MIS reporting, providing accurate analysis of actual versus budget/forecast data to the FP&A team. Additionally, the incumbent will be expected to challenge estimates to complete in order to maximize project margins and ensure timely invoicing.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of intercompany invoicing, balance sheet items linked to projects, and hedging strategies to minimize exposure. They will also provide all project finance reporting and participate in project management team meetings, risk sessions, and decision-making processes related to project finances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with project managers to prepare periodic project reviews with financial analysis
  • Optimize project results through close involvement with project managers
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and MIS reporting
  • Provide accurate analysis of actual versus budget/forecast data
  • Challenge estimates to complete to maximize project margins
  • Ensure timely invoicing and accurate tracking of balance sheet items linked to projects
  • Implement hedging strategies to minimize exposure
  • Participate in project management team meetings, risk sessions, and decision-making processes

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (CA/ICWA) with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in project finance or controlling
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP in FI, PP, Project, and MM modules
  • Experience in manufacturing MNC units is desirable
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Working experience of hedging is desirable

Education and Experience

  • CA or CMA with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in project controlling
  • Knowledge of Alstom and other functional areas within the organization is desirable
