Role Description

As a Backend Engineer at our organization, you will design and maintain multiple technologies, including API backends, credit scoring and underwriting systems, payments integrations, and operations tools.

You will work closely with Product and Data Science teams to build out new product lines for the company.

Responsibilities
  • Building APIs and backend systems for frontend clients, including Android mobile apps.
  • Integrating with third-party systems, including payment systems, identity providers, and messaging platforms.
  • Helping us build new financial products.
  • Scaling backend services to ever-growing levels of traffic and complexity.

Requirements
  • You have experience building backend software for web-based or mobile products.
  • Leveraging modern AI tools for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including computer science fundamentals, distributed systems, data storage, and agile development methodologies.
  • Pragmatic approach combining technology and product needs.
  • Highly entrepreneurial, taking ownership of impact and solving problems proactively.
  • Excellent collaborator and communicator, understanding startups as team sports.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data architectures integrating disparate data sources.
  • A strong command on data modeling and organization best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with toolstacks like dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Metabase, etc.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python.
