Strategic Director Role

We are seeking a professional to serve as a Strategic Director, focusing on Higher Education. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the higher education landscape and excellent communication skills.


About the Position:
  • The successful candidate will work closely with Higher Education Committee leadership and members to develop thought leadership papers, reports, and articles.
  • They will interface with regulatory bodies, ministries, and state governments to develop FICCI reports and inputs on government notifications and policy documents.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Thought Leadership/Policy Advocacy: Develop papers and reports on key areas for the Higher Education Committee.
  • Interface with Regulatory Bodies: Regularly engage with regulatory bodies, ministries, and state governments to develop FICCI reports and inputs.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop partnerships with university leaders, multilateral organizations, and other key stakeholders in higher education.

FICCI Higher Education Committee & Taskforces (TF):
  • Conduct committee meetings and prepare minutes under the guidance of Committee leadership.
  • Identify and create Task Forces to address specific sectoral issues.
  • Work with Task Forces to develop papers and execute bespoke projects.
  • Mobilize new members and manage membership engagement activities.

Higher Education Summit (HES):
  • Organize and manage the annual global FICCI Higher Education Summit.
  • Design the conference program and identify national and international partners.
  • Manage masterclasses, workshops, and closed-door interactions between industry and academic leaders.
  • Generate revenue through sponsorship, delegate participation, and social media branding.

Key Projects:
  • Develop projects in industry-academia engagement and capacity-building programs for faculty and Higher Education Leadership.
  • Engage with World Bank and explore joint projects.
  • Identify and explore projects of mutual interest with Central government agencies and state governments.
