Embedded Firmware Engineer Lead

We are seeking a seasoned Embedded Firmware Engineer to lead the design and development of high-reliability embedded architectures for medical devices and other regulated industries.

This role involves driving the complete product lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks such as IEC 62304 and ISO 13485. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in embedded systems development, particularly in medical devices or other highly regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and oversee the development of embedded systems using 32-bit microcontrollers (STM32, NXP, TI) and application processors (ARM Cortex-A, i.MX, etc.).
  • Drive the complete product lifecycle from concept to long-term maintenance.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, quality, and regulatory teams to translate product requirements into robust system architectures.
  • Lead firmware development in C and C++ for bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded-Linux targets.
  • Define board-level hardware architecture and perform system bring-up and integration.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and cybersecurity guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems development, preferably in regulated industries.
  • Proficient in C and C++ for real-time systems.
  • Deep expertise in embedded Linux development and RTOS.
  • Proven background in technical consulting or client-facing product development roles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
