Senior Solar Design Lead

This is an exciting opportunity to assume a senior leadership role in our solar team. You will be responsible for overseeing the engineering activities of civil and structural aspects of solar power plants.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in design aspects of solar PV power plants and power distribution projects, with a strong understanding of engineering activities covering full project cycles from pre-bid to commissioning and O&M. They should also be able to lead a team of design engineers and draughts persons to manage engineering activities within budget and deliver on time while maintaining high-quality engineering standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents
  • Ensuring deliveries align with project schedules
  • Reviewing drawings by design engineers and draughts persons, checking design and sizing calculations, and obtaining client approvals
  • Reviewing vendor deliverables and technical clarifications
  • Estimating and planning man-hour requirements
  • Reviewing BOQ and submitting to contracts teams
  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines for inter-departmental checks
  • Providing support and clarifications to site execution teams

The successful candidate should possess excellent technical expertise in engineering activities for civil and structural aspects, including control room buildings, transformer foundations, outdoor equipment foundations, inverter rooms, grading, roads, and drainage. They should also be able to review vendor engineering documents and interpret contractual technical requirements.

You will work closely with project teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering outputs. This requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Minimum qualification: BE/B.Tech in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 8-20 years of experience in design aspects of solar PV power plants and power distribution projects
  • Strong technical expertise in engineering activities for civil and structural aspects
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
