Echidna Giving is a private funder dedicated to improving girls' education. Our goal is to support quality, gender-responsive education in lower-income countries.

We focus on girls because they face significant disadvantages worldwide, and educating them can have a transformative impact on their families, communities, and nations for generations to come.

As a Program Officer, you will be responsible for shaping our Primary Foundational Learning strategy in India, identifying grantees that align with this strategy, and supporting and overseeing the grant portfolio.

You will work closely with colleagues to accelerate progress for grantees and the wider field, staying current in Primary Foundational Learning research and maintaining awareness of country dynamics.

The role requires expertise in at least two areas: technical expertise in Primary Foundational Learning, strong networks in India, or experience and networks in philanthropy.

Responsibilities include developing and executing grantmaking strategies, building relationships with grantees, funders, and other key actors, and representing us in key settings.

Qualifications include over 12 years of professional experience, knowledge and expertise in the education sector, and a strong understanding of the political economy in education in India.

We are looking for candidates who are flexible, mature, and have a sense of humor, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to operate effectively independently.
