Senior Roof Rail Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with expertise in designing roof rail systems for passenger vehicles, including hatchbacks and SUVs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Main Tasks:
  • Develop innovative roof rail designs for various vehicle programs.
  • Evaluate design feasibility considering structural integrity, safety features, styling requirements, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Ensure manufacturability and optimize designs to minimize costs while maximizing durability.
  • Maintain awareness of packaging limitations and collaborate with adjacent system teams (roof, body side, sealing, trim).
  • Prepare and review detailed 3D/2D design documentation using CATIA V5 software.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams (styling, BIW, trim, manufacturing) to achieve project goals.
  • Apply knowledge gained from prior vehicle program experiences to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 4-8 years of experience in roof rail design for passenger vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of structural strength, safety features, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
