Senior Backend Developer

About the Opportunity:

Droisys is seeking a talented Senior Backend Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable backend systems using Ruby on Rails.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement efficient backend systems using Ruby on Rails
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy new features
  • Write high-quality, well-documented code that meets company standards
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to colleagues
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

Requirements:

Strong proficiency in Ruby (language fundamentals, idioms, metaprogramming)

Deep understanding of OOP, mixins, blocks, procs, and lambdas

Familiarity with memory management, GC tuning, and performance profiling

Experience with frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Grape, ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, ActiveModel validations, Engines, initializers, routing, and lifecycle callbacks

Comfortable deploying and optimizing Passenger, Thin

Deeper understanding of Thread vs. process models, Connection handling, worker tuning, memory profiling

PostgreSQL and advanced usage of ActiveRecord

Experience optimizing N+1 queries, indexes, and query plans

Proficient with Bundler, Rake, Rubygems

Gem building and custom gem publishing

Knowledge of RVM, rbenv, chruby
