Data Engineer, AVP


Job Description:

We are looking for a Data Engineer to build innovative data-driven solutions through data pipelines, modelling and ETL design.

  • You will develop comprehensive knowledge of our data structures and metrics, advocating for change when needed for product development.
  • You will provide transformation solutions and carry out complex data extractions.
  • You will develop a clear understanding of data platform cost levels to build cost-effective and strategic solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Driving Customer Value: You will understand complex business problems and requirements to correctly apply the most appropriate and reusable tools to build data solutions.
  2. Data Engineering Community: You will participate in the data engineering community to deliver opportunities to support our strategic direction.
  3. Complex Data Engineering Tasks: You will carry out complex data engineering tasks to build a scalable data architecture and the transformation of data to make it usable to analysts and data scientists.
  4. Advanced Automation: You will build advanced automation of data engineering pipelines through the removal of manual stages.
  5. Product Planning and Design: You will lead on the planning and design of complex products and provide guidance to colleagues and the wider team when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

You will need an understanding of data usage and dependencies with wider teams and the end customer. You will also have experience of extracting value and features from large scale data.

  • Experience in ETL technical design, data quality testing, cleansing and monitoring, data sourcing, exploration and analysis, and data warehousing and data modelling capabilities.
  • Experience in DevOps practice and cloud technologies specifically AWS.
  • Good knowledge of snowflake and capable of creating practical and scalable data solutions using the snowflake platform to meet business needs.
