Job Title: Community Development Specialist

As a Community Development Specialist, you will be responsible for project execution and management. This involves implementing projects, tracking quality delivery of plans, collaborating with teams to secure support, encouraging innovative approaches, addressing operational challenges, conducting regular field visits to monitor progress, fostering community involvement and ownership for long-term sustainability, and aligning project activities with community aspirations.

  • Project Execution and Management (70%): Implement projects that align with community goals and objectives, track quality delivery of plans, and collaborate with teams to secure support.
  • Develop Partnerships and Advocacy (30%): Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, increase project visibility, identify opportunities to align stakeholder activities with project goals, represent the organization at meetings, participate in advocacy efforts to drive impactful change, and collaborate with technical teams to design effective advocacy strategies.

The role requires flexibility and the ability to carry out any other related duties necessary for the optimum functioning of the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Graduate degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • At least 1 year's experience in program implementation in the social sector.
  • Good understanding of social and environmental concepts and methods.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one local language.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of the social sector, and the ability to develop good relationships with stakeholders. The role also requires open-mindedness, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work under pressure.
