Design Governance Specialist

As a critical member of our management team, you will oversee the revenue growth and performance metrics for a region. Your key responsibilities include taking ownership of business-critical initiatives, such as product launches, process improvements, category expansion, and vendor base management.

You will work closely with various teams to drive compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This includes conducting routine governance checks, identifying operational control gaps, and ensuring adherence to process frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk & Non-Compliance Management
    • Monitor and resolve governance risks related to financial, operational, or service quality issues.
    • Proactively address non-compliance or deviations from internal stakeholders, including design teams, project managers, supply chain coordination teams, and operations teams.
  • Audit Readiness & Documentation
    • Maintain all project, partner, and compliance documentation in an audit-ready format.
    • Lead monthly/quarterly internal audits across verticals and ensure timely closure of findings.
  • Stakeholder & Partner Coordination
    • Liaise with city ops, design teams, and PMs to reinforce a governance-first mindset.
    • Work directly with partners to ensure clarity on compliance expectations and accountability.
  • Reporting & Escalation Management
    • Prepare city-level compliance reports and governance scorecards for business reviews.
    • Escalate recurring non-compliances or systemic partner issues to the regional governance lead.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree in Design. MBA would be an added advantage.
  • Typically spent at least 6 to 7 years in an interior fit-out business, operating role managing a revenue-generating team(s) or selling design products/services through a bunch of designers.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to convey business requirements and needs in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
  • Structured thought process and strong analytical ability, determined to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills (direct team reporting in past roles a must)
  • Possesses significant personal and professional drive to continuously improve the standing of Design and Design experience.
  • Deep understanding of interior fit-out industry, processes, market trends etc.
  • Strong leadership: Hire, retain, motivate, and look after a diverse team of BMs, TAMs, IDs, LPs etc.
  • Tracking and training: Training and actively coaching the team on the job. Track strong and weak performance and course correct. Reward appropriately.
  • Customer empathy: appreciate the nature of the customer problem and be a trustworthy, knowledgeable partner.
  • Be the leader in the representative region. Be hungry, humble, and lean.
