Workday Security Specialist Job Description

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of Workday security features and controls.

  • Configure, Maintain, and Advise on Security: Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data within the Workday application.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors to stay informed about new technologies and their association with future functionality and security.
  • Data Security Compliance: Develop and maintain awareness of divisional and data security policies and procedures.
  • Report Reviews: Participate in review processes, ensuring adherence to security and data privacy standards.
  • Security Roadmap: Stay updated on new security features within the Workday application's roadmap and implement where possible.
  • Audits and Assurance: Perform system role and access log audits to ensure accuracy and demonstrate proof of security controls during internal and external audits.

Requirements:

  • Workday Security Expertise: Solid understanding of Workday security features and controls.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with SOX and data privacy regulations.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to accurately collect information to understand and assess clients' needs and situations.
  • System Knowledge: Working knowledge of HR/Finance information systems, data models, organization structures, and roles.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with functional and IT clients.
  • Detailed Orientation: Strong attention to detail.
  • Adherence Enforcement: Comfortable enforcing adherence to security policies and practices.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
