Job Role Overview:

The Senior Audit Associate will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional audit services to clients. This involves understanding client needs and developing expertise in various areas.

  • Understanding Client Needs: Develop an understanding of clients' business operations, accounting systems, employees, company values, and industry-specific issues.
  • Developing Expertise: Develop and demonstrate an understanding of the RSM audit approach, methodology, and tools.
  • Performing Audit Procedures: Conduct audit procedures and tests in accordance with the RSM audit methodology based on the overall audit plan, ensuring proper documentation of work performed.
  • Identifying Risks and Issues: Identify potential risks and issues; discuss with engagement teams to resolve any challenges that arise.
  • Researching Technical Issues: Conduct thorough research on technical accounting matters.
  • Building Industry Expertise: Develop in-depth knowledge of specific industries.
  • Preparing Reports: Create comprehensive audit reports and management letters.
  • Exercising Professional Judgment: Utilize professional skepticism, judgment, and adherence to the code of ethics while on engagements.
  • Ensuring Quality Standards: Ensure that all documentation meets the firm's quality standards.
  • Collaborating with Team Members: Work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with RSM audit professionals.
  • Providing Supervision and Training: Provide guidance and development training for associates.
  • Ownership of Tasks: Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables to ensure service excellence through prompt responses to internal and external clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:

  • Semi-qualified ACCA/CPA certification.
  • Qualified CA/ACCA/Licensed CPA designation.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience working in an accounting and audit-related field, specifically in the NFP industry.
  • Strong technical skills in accounting, including IFRS or GAAP and GAAS.
  • Advanced data analytical skills, including Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables, and basic formulas), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and project management skills.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English, as frequent communication with RSM International clients and United States-based engagement teams is required.
