Job Title: Industrial Automation Expert

About this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced industrial automation expert to join our team. As an industrial automation expert, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SCADA and MES systems across manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and deploying Ignition SCADA and MES applications
  • Architecting and implementing real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions
  • Ensuring seamless integration of OT systems, PLC, SCADA, MES with enterprise IT systems, ERP, databases, cloud
  • Developing and maintaining secure, efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, OPC UA protocols
  • Managing industrial databases, SQL, historian, timeseries databases for high availability and performance
  • Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs
  • Providing technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, predictive analytics
  • Troubleshooting, optimizing, and supporting existing SCADA/MES deployments to ensure minimal downtime
  • Mentoring junior engineers and supporting knowledge sharing across the engineering team

Requirements:

  • Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc.
  • Proficiency with database technologies, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies
  • REST APIs for system interconnectivity
  • MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication
  • OPC UA for industrial interoperability
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLC, SCADA, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards, ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms, Azure IoT, AWS IoT, etc.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments
  • Familiarity with containerization, Docker, Kubernetes for SCADA/MES deployments
  • Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation, Industry 4.0 projects
  • Certifications, Ignition Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications
