Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering group, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy data pipelines and architectures to support business needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical guidance on data solutions.
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends and insights, and develop predictive models to inform business decisions.
  • Maintain and improve existing data systems, including ETL processes, data warehouses, and data marts.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, following best practices and ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of building and managing data solutions.
  • Expertise in analytic data warehouse technologies, including Snowflake (knowledge of Snowflake Cortex is a plus) and Databricks SQL.
  • Strong proficiency in ETL tools such as SSIS and knowledge with big data frameworks like Cloudera.
  • Advanced skills in SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in PySpark for data processing and transformation.
  • Experience with various databases and file formats, including MS SQL Server, MySQL, Snowflake, AWS S3, JSON, CSV, XML, and Excel.
  • Hands-on experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and SSRS.
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
  • Experience with version control systems like GitHub and SVN.
  • Familiarity with ticket tracking systems like Jira.
  • Experience with development environments such as Visual Studio and SSMS.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
