Network Infrastructure Manager Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Network Infrastructure Manager to oversee the design, implementation, deployment and maintenance of network infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure the continuous and secure flow of data between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) systems.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and managing large-scale production network deployment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions. Strong knowledge of network security practices and protocols, including VPN, intrusion detection, and VLAN management is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure high availability, low latency, redundancy and security.
  2. Collaborate with production and IT teams to align network infrastructure with operational needs.
  3. Install and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points for optimal performance and security.
  4. Monitor and troubleshoot network performance to identify potential bottlenecks and minimize downtime.
  5. Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and modernization initiatives.
  6. Ensure network scalability to support future production needs and business growth.
  7. Implement and enforce network security policies and controls.
  8. Manage relationships with network vendors and external partners.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Proficient in designing and managing large-scale production network deployment.
  2. Strong knowledge of network security practices and protocols.
  3. Experience in implementing OT/IT network integration and managing both wired and wireless network infrastructure.
  4. Expertise in troubleshooting network issues and implementing solutions in a time-sensitive production environment.
  5. Ability to manage vendor relationships and drive continuous improvements in network performance.
  6. Strong communication and project management skills.
