Senior Mortgage Review Specialist

This role involves reviewing mortgage loan applications to ensure they meet eligibility and compliance standards. You will be responsible for analysing data, reports and inspections to verify collateral acceptability to investors and the company.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in underwriting and risk assessment, with knowledge of lending guidelines and credit analysis. Experience with cash flow analysis and debt-to-income ratios is also required.
- Review and analyse mortgage loan applications for accuracy and completeness
- Verify loan, property and borrower information with other available documents
- Calculate asset requirements for closing and reserve purposes
- Make independent decisions regarding loan acceptance and risk according to HUD and investor guidelines
Key Responsibilities:
- Final approval of mortgage loans
- Completing required paperwork and forms in a timely and accurate manner
- Sign off conditions in a timely manner set by management
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in conventional/govt end-to-end underwriting
- Well-versed in all 4C's of underwriting (Asset, Income, Credit and Collateral)
Additional Information:
This role requires strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The ideal candidate will be well-organised, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
