Job Title: Software Delivery Specialist

At our organization, we are seeking a skilled professional to assume the role of Software Delivery Specialist. In this capacity, the selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that software applications are efficiently packaged and delivered to meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repackage software applications into MSI, MST or App-V formats to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure
  • Support the creation of application packages using PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT) to guarantee timely delivery and minimize downtime
  • Participate in thorough testing and validation of application packages in controlled environments to ensure quality and reliability
  • Document packaging steps, testing results, and installation guidelines to facilitate knowledge sharing and improve process efficiency
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deploy applications through SCCM or Intune and resolve packaging-related issues to ensure business continuity
  • Coordinate with requestors or application owners to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives

Key Performance Indicators:

Packaging Service Level Agreement (SLA) and Bug Ratio will serve as critical metrics to gauge success in this role.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field is required for this position.

Functional Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Windows Installer technology is essential for success in this role.
  • Experience in handling packages with drivers, certificates, services, permissions, etc. is necessary to ensure efficient software delivery.
  • Expertise in PowerShell scripting and PSADT is crucial for creating application packages and minimizing downtime.
  • Understanding of dependencies, DLLs, registry, and custom actions is vital for ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

Behavioral Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and eagerness to work in a structured IT environment are essential for this role.
