We are seeking a highly skilled Equity Research Analyst to join our team at the family office of Mr. Bhanu Chopra, Founder of RateGain. RateGain is a leading global travel technology company, and our family office invests in a wide range of asset classes, including public and private equity, bonds, structured credit, and other alternative investments.

As an Equity Research Analyst, you will be responsible for evaluating new business and investment opportunities and providing recommendations to our investment committee. Your key responsibilities will include:

Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough fundamental analysis of public markets and private companies, evaluating financial performance, competitive positioning, industry trends, and management quality to identify compelling investment opportunities.

Idea Generation: Generate investment ideas through rigorous research, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Identify undervalued assets, emerging trends, and potential catalysts that align with our investment thesis.

Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to forecast company performance, including revenue projections, earnings estimates, and valuation metrics. Ensure models are robust, accurate, and reflective of underlying business dynamics.

Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on prospective investment targets, assessing business fundamentals, risks, and growth prospects. Engage with company management, industry experts, and other stakeholders to gain insights and validate investment theses.

Investment Recommendations: Present well-reasoned investment recommendations to the investment committee, supported by thorough analysis and a clear articulation of the investment thesis. Communicate insights effectively, highlighting key risks and opportunities.

Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor the performance of existing portfolio holdings, conducting regular reviews and updates based on changing market conditions and company developments. Identify opportunities to enhance portfolio returns and mitigate risks proactively.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a buy-side setup, with a strong background in equity research and analysis.
  • Excellent financial modelling and valuation skills, with the ability to identify industry trends and make stock recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex analysis and recommendations effectively.
  • A strong understanding of technical analysis and quantitative models, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification, such as an MBA, CA, or CFA, and a professional research analyst certification.
