Job Title: Communications Specialist

Overview:

The Communications Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and executing strategic communications campaigns to maintain brand consistency across all media channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Strategic Campaigns: Assist in the development and execution of strategic communications campaigns to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
  • Content Creation: Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, newsletters, and social media content to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Media Coordination: Coordinate with media outlets, journalists, and influencers for coverage, ensuring that the company's message is conveyed accurately and consistently.
  • Media Monitoring: Monitor media coverage and prepare communications activity reports to track the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Event Planning: Support event planning, press conferences, and promotional activities to engage with target audiences.
  • Database Management: Maintain and update the media contact database to ensure seamless communication with key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey messages to various stakeholders.
  • Communications Understanding: Have a good understanding of communications principles, media relations, and marketing strategies to develop effective communications campaigns.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain relationships with media professionals to secure coverage and collaborations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office and social media platforms to create engaging content and manage online presence.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Corporate Communications Experience: Prior experience in corporate communications, PR agency, or media relations to bring valuable insights and expertise.
  • Digital Communications Tools Familiarity: Familiarity with digital communications tools (e.g., Hootsuite) to leverage their capabilities and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Content Creation Knowledge: Basic knowledge of content creation and graphic design tools to produce visually appealing and engaging content.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field to provide a solid foundation in communications principles and practices.
