Infrastructure Consultant Role

We are seeking a seasoned expert to spearhead the assessment, design, deployment, and optimization of complex enterprise IT infrastructures. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of virtualization, networking, cloud platforms, and automation, with a proven track record of ensuring infrastructure resilience, operational efficiency, and compliance with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough infrastructure architecture assessments and recommend improvements for scalability, performance, and security.
  • Design and implement robust enterprise virtualization solutions using VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Lead advanced networking configuration and troubleshooting, including routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and Cisco IOS administration.
  • Develop and execute infrastructure solutions in AWS and/or Azure, with a focus on IaaS and PaaS environments.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Bash scripting.
  • Establish and maintain monitoring and diagnostics using tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, or similar platforms.
  • Develop and maintain robust Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP), including RPO and RTO definitions and the automation of backup and recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of infrastructure with business needs and compliance standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Virtualization: Expertise in VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Networking: Advanced skills in routing/switching, VLANs, VPNs, and Cisco IOS (preferably CCNP-level).
  • Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure (IaaS/PaaS design & operations).
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Bash.
  • Monitoring & Diagnostics: Experience with SolarWinds, Splunk, or equivalent platforms.
  • Disaster Recovery/BCP: Proven ability to define RPO/RTO and automate backup and recovery processes.

Certifications:

  • CCNP Enterprise (Cisco)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • ITIL v4 Foundation
