Global Trade Specialist Job Description

Job Summary

This role involves determining customs trade HTS & ECCN classifications, assisting with compliance data collection and record keeping, supporting compliance training and audit activities, generating and analyzing compliance reports, and participating in root cause analysis of international trade issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Customs Trade HTS & ECCN Classification determinations for spare parts and other products for import and export.
  • Assist in compliance data collection and record keeping.
  • Support compliance training and audit activities.
  • Generate and analyze compliance reports.
  • Participate in root cause analysis of international trade issues, recommend solutions to help implement corrective actions.
  • Support Customs inquiries related to classifications of products.
  • Other projects as assigned by trade management.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Knowledge of advanced technology and processes involved in Semiconductor, Flat Panel, Solar cell manufacturing (SEMI, Nanomanufacturing) is essential. Additionally, knowledge of import and/or export trade compliance elements, e.g., Harmonized Tariff Schedules, Export Classification Commodity Numbers, Customs entry process, Customs invoicing requirements, special trade program requirements, etc., is required. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to conduct classification analysis to arrive at an accurate HTS and ECCN Classification, using various trade tools such as GRIs, CROSS rulings, WCO explanatory notes, and Export Regulations & other Classification Tools.
