Job Description

This skilled position involves performing various welding tasks based on project requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), MIG, TIG, Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), or Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) as per project needs.
  • Welding structural steel components such as beams, columns, base plates, stiffeners, and other associated items.
  • Reading and interpreting welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Ensuring high-quality welds as per ASME, AWS, IS, and EN standards.
  • Conducting fit-up, tack welding, and final welding as per approved procedures.
  • Working closely with the QA/QC team for weld inspection, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) clearance, and rework if necessary.
  • Maintaining tools, welding machines, and work area cleanliness.
  • Complying with safety protocols, including personal protective equipment (PPE), fire watch, hot work permits, etc.
Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • Intermediate level qualification in industrial trade (ITI).
  • 2–7 years of experience in industrial fabrication or construction.
  • Valid welding certifications from ASME/AWS/IS preferred.
  • Ability to work from fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
  • Good physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces or at height.
  • Knowledge of various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel.
