Cloudflare WAF Expert

We are seeking a skilled Cloudflare WAF expert to join our organization.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Cloudflare WAF rules, page shields, and threat intelligence filters to ensure optimal security and performance.
  • Tune policies to minimize false positives and prevent OWASP Top 10 attacks.
  • Monitor web traffic anomalies, bot activity, and take proactive measures to prevent potential threats.
  • Integrate WAF alerts with central SIEM/SOC for real-time visibility and incident response.
  • Collaborate with application teams to validate WAF configurations before production deployment.
  • Troubleshoot WAF blocks, performance issues, and content caching anomalies to ensure seamless user experience.
  • Maintain access control, rate limiting, and geo-restriction rules to protect against unauthorized access.
  • Generate reports for application owners and participate in threat modeling exercises to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Assist senior engineers in rule set upgrades, custom signatures, and API security enhancements to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Participate in disaster recovery drills and ensure WAF availability in failover scenarios to guarantee business continuity.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hands-on 5-7 years' experience with Cloudflare WAF or equivalent (e.g., Akamai, AWS WAF).
  • In-depth understanding of web protocols, application headers, and TLS to ensure secure data transmission.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and app security standards to integrate security into the development process.
