Product Development Manager Role

The position of Product Development Manager is responsible for developing new products and optimizing existing formulations. This includes solid and liquid dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, solutions, suspensions, pellets, and MUPS for regulated markets like US, Europe, and ROW.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine project scope, define activities, and timelines to ensure timely completion.
  • Lead the execution of new formulations by investigating API characteristics, safety, and compatibility with other ingredients.
  • IDentify resource requirements for projects and assimilate literature information to ensure appropriate usage throughout development.
  • Develop R&D plans and experimental designs using QBD principles for all new product development projects and processes.
  • Plan and coordinate lab scale-up/optimization and pilot BE batches while adhering to lab GMP systems and practices.
  • Review lab experiment notebooks and prepare technology transfer documents.
  • Liaise and coordinate with technology transfer teams and production teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
  • Program optimization of existing product performance by investigating API characteristics and finished products.
  • Monitor stability studies and evaluate results to advance further for product development activity.
  • Communicate with various departments to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Prepare new departmental SOPs, manuals, and guidelines documents as required.
  • Ensure proper training of subordinates, technicians, and housekeeping personnel on equipment and systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date RLD samples inventory and participate in departmental audits.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics)
  • Formulation development experience of Solid & Liquid Oral; preferred to have Pellets project experience.
